Quilting Guidelines

Think twice before starting your quilts. This is very important especially for people who are new to quilting. Do you really think this hobby or job is for you? Are you persistent enough to start and later on finish what you have started? Or do you have the time and the resources to pursue quilting? This questions needs to be thought about and answered by you before deciding to do your quilts.

Assess your quilting ability. Now that you have the drive, do not decide right away and purchase your quilting kit, just knowing in the end that it’s too difficult for you or you do not have enough time to do it. There are so many quilting designs available in the market, and it’s good to know which one matches with your expertise.

Invest for the right materials. Buying for cheaper products is not the issue here, just as long as you are assured that they are of high quality, since it may affect your quilts in the long run. For example, does your fabric shrinks after being washed? Or is the thread you used colorfast and will not stain your whole quilt? These are just a few of the things you have to note before deciding to buy yourquilting material.

Do your quilt the right way. If it asks for a backstitch, then do so. If it requires a specific size for length and width, then so be it. It will not cost you to follow simple instructions and know the basics. Anyway, those are provided to help you with yourquilting, and to make sure that you are doing it the right way.

Finish your quilts with pride. Starting your quilt and be able to finish it the way you are expecting to gives you satisfaction and pride. If you have followed the tips provided above, for sure you’ll be able to reach this final stage.
